RAMADAN is the best time to begin Transformation you have been waiting to bring into yourself! Not only this is the time for gratitude but also being of service to Humanity. What can be better than this time to begin working on your health?

Due to long hours of fasting during this time of the year, please take extra care of yourself and be conscious about the choices you make for yourself and for your family!

Here are few tips form us that support your Fasting in a Healthy way towards a Healthier and Lighter YOU!

  • Begin Preparing for Ramadan in advance. Planning is the key to success.
  • Begin making changes in your diet prior to start of Ramadan.
  • Bring awareness towards Hydration everyday consciously, to avoid dehydration later.
  • Reduce the intake of Caffeine to very low now so that you don’t crave later.
  • Stop smoking. If you can’t stop completely, increase the gaps between smokes.
  • Visit your Doctor, if you are on medication to discuss if you can fast and how the medication will be altered.
  • Do not stop physical activity completely. Go for a short walk everyday just to keep the body active. If you can engage in more activity, it is even better.
  • Suhoor Time Foods – Have Fruits first, preferable 1-2 types. Do not mix many type of fruits. Wait 30 minutes before you eat something heavier such as complex carbohydrates. If you are short of time, then keep fruits for Iftar time.
  • Healthy Foods for Suhoor can be Quinoa / Amaranth, Oats – in Milk or savory with vegetables. Avoid white sugar, instead you may use Dates or Jaggery.
  • Avoid too much Sweet and too much Salt to avoid feeling thirsty during the day.
  • The more Natural Foods you eat , the less thirst and cravings you will experience.
  • Best Fruits in Summer are the ones with high water content – Sweet Melons, Watermelons, Pineapple, Tomato, Cucumbers
  • Other Options – Vegetables including lots of Greens in the form of Salads & Soups, Nuts & Seeds – Unsalted and not fried or processed. Sprouts – Mung beans, other lentils, Fenugreek & more.
  • Break your Fast but not shock your Digestive System – 2-3 Dates, Fresh Coconut Water or Fresh Juice or fruits.
  • AVOID – Fried foods, Oily foods, Too much of dense protein, heavy creamy curries, Desserts which are not healthy and full of sugar.
  • Practice Eating with Consciousness – Eat slowly with gratitude, chew well and let your body be happy eating what you are. This will do wonders to your Digestive System.
