If your gut is healthy, you are healthy!
I still remember when I was a child, I suffered frequent stomach pains especially after dinner. What was done when I had that pain? Take a pill and sleep through the night if I could or just take another one after few hours and wait for it to be okay. As I look back and think, I can think of various reasons, but neither was I educated to understand, nor my family could think. One thing was sure that the stomach was not liking something I was eating. What was that? I do not know.
As life has gone by, giving me a chance to slowly learn about this body and how it works, I can easily say that even if there is a hair thin disturbance in our Digestive System, we will not be at ease. Most of us ignore the small cries our body gives and that’s what I did when I was young. We must give attention to those tiny signals our body gives. This could solve most of our nagging problems before they become acute or chronic.
Health of our physical body is literally an indication of how our digestive health is or we can say our gut health is. Imagine how important our gut is that we even address our feelings as “gut feelings” 😊
So, what do we do in this busy life such that we can manage our digestion well?
Of course, let us not compromise the fact that our eating must be as clean as possible because there is no magic wand for solving overeating issues or eating unhealthy junk food habits.
Little tip # 1 – Drink water 30 minutes before you eat your meal. While you eat, do not drink and if you wish drink an hour after the meal.
Little tip # 2 – If possible, do walk barefoot on earth for 20-30 minutes before you eat. This will tune your body to digest that meal wonderfully. All said, we must not forget Mother Earth.
Little tip # 3 – Let’s not sit or lie down soon after we have eaten. There must be at least 3 hours in between our food and bed time.
Little tip # 4 – Last but not the least, lets combine our food properly. What does that mean? It basically means to not eat foods that require different kinds of digestive juices at the same time. Because then, the juices get neutralized and foods takes long to digest. Want to know more?
